Allied Vision’s MVDK (Machine Vision Development Kit) is a versatile hardware platform designed to simplify the evaluation and development of products built on Allied Vision IP Cores, supporting all major industrial vision interfaces. Its base board is highly configurable using FMCs (FPGA Mezzanine Cards), providing seamless connectivity to vision sensors and enabling the creation of GigE Vision, USB3 Vision, and CoaXPress cameras, as well as GigE Vision and CoaXPress host designs.

The MVDK comes equipped with an Enclustra Mercury FPGA module and an FMC interface board, complete with a fully functional reference design. This combination accelerates development, delivers high performance in a compact footprint, and provides the flexibility needed to tailor your design to specific requirements.

Main Benefits

For CoaXPress development

The MVDK for CoaXPress development features an FMC equipped with two or four CXP-6 or CXP-12 connections, supporting both device (camera) and host (frame grabber) designs. Its reference designs are fully compliant with CoaXPress standards, ensuring seamless development and integration.

For USB3 Vision development

The MVDK for USB3 Vision development leverages 5-Gbit/s standard USB3 technology, providing a cost-effective solution for high-speed camera design. The USB3 Vision IP Core development kit is fully GenICam-compliant and A3-certified, making it the simplest way to start designing a new USB3 Vision camera. The interface is implemented via an AV-designed FMC featuring a Cypress FX3 USB3 chip, ensuring reliable and efficient performance.

For GigE Vision development

Designed for high-speed networking, the MVDK for GigE Vision allows development of cameras and host systems fully compliant with the A3 GigE Vision specification, supporting data rates up to 10 Gbps. Applications at 2.5, 5, and 10 Gbps utilize the Allied Vision NBase-T FMC module for reliable, high-performance operation.

For Sony IMX development

The MVDK fully supports Sony’s IMX Pregius sensor series, a widely used line of high-quality CMOS imagers. Allied Vision provides dedicated IP for seamless sensor data acquisition and control. The reference design combines the IMX IP Core with a GigE Vision-compliant output, enabling efficient development of high-performance imaging solutions.

For MIPI CSI-2 development

The MVDK with the MIPI CSI-2 receiver IP Core enables the development of cameras using widely adopted, high-quality MIPI CSI-2-compliant imagers. Allied Vision provides dedicated IP to acquire data from and control these sensors. The reference design pairs the MIPI CSI-2 receiver IP Core with a GigE Vision-compliant output, delivering a streamlined path from sensor to system.
