Allied Vision Technologies achieves worldwide ISO certification

All R&D and production facilities are now certified with ISO 9001 international standard for quality management processes. AVT Osnabrück gains ISO 13485 certificate for medical equipment.

Allied Vision Technologies (AVT) has expanded the scope of its ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certifications in the course of the yearly audits that took place in November 2012. All R&D and production facilities were successfully audited by the certification bodies TÜV Hessen and BSI, and are now certified according to the ISO 9001 standard: Stadtroda, Ahrensburg and Osnabrück in Germany as well as Burnaby, BC in Canada.

Global Total Quality Management System
Allied Vision Technologies’ locations in Stadtroda and Ahrensburg in Germany have been certified for 13 years. Because they became part of the AVT Group later through acquisitions, the Burnaby and Osnabrück facilities had not been certified yet, although they had always been operating according to the same quality standards. This has now been corrected with audits at all four locations.

“We are all very proud of this achievement”, commented Dr. Volker Hartmann, Head of Total Quality Management at Allied Vision Technologies. “Unlike other companies, we have engineering and production facilities at several locations around the world, which provides us more proximity to our markets. It is essential to us to ensure that we provide our customers the same high quality level AVT stands for, wherever our cameras are designed or manufactured. The ISO certification is just a confirmation that it is actually the case”.

Thanks to its worldwide presence, Allied Vision Technologies also offers around the clock sales, customer service and technical support with teams located in Europe, North America and Asia.

Certification for Medical Equipment
Besides the ISO 9001 quality management certification, AVT has started to have its facilities certified according to ISO 13485, a specific standard for medical equipment. After Stadtroda and Ahrensburg were certified for the first time end of 2011, the Osnabrück site was successfully audited in November 2012. “We expect to add Burnaby to the 2013 audit”, says Hartmann.

Allied Vision Technologies’ cameras are used in a wide range of demanding applications including industrial inspection, automation, medical imaging, scientific research, traffic monitoring, security, outdoor imaging and more.
