Allied Vision equips Alvium cameras with UV CMOS sensor from Sony

The latest addition to Allied Vision’s Alvium camera series are camera models featuring Sony’s IMX487 CMOS sensor with ultraviolet (UV) sensitivity. With the implementation of the innovative, backside illuminated, global shutter UV CMOS sensor, Allied Vision extends the capabilities of the Alvium cameras for applications in the ultraviolet spectral range. Alvium UV cameras are the smallest industrial grade ultraviolet imaging devices on the market ideally suitable to build extremely compact OEM systems for embedded and machine vision applications, such as battery inspection, UV microscopy, or forensic inspection.

High-quality UV imaging
The new Alvium UV models incorporate the innovative 8.1 MP Sony Pregius S IMX487 CMOS sensor especially designed for the waveband between 200 nm to 400 nm. This makes them suitable for many industrial and scientific imaging applications in the near- and mid-UV range requiring high quality UV images with low noise at high resolution and frame rates. With the industry‘s smallest pixel size of only 2.74 μm, the cameras are able to detect the smallest details at high UV sensitivity
